Our Scholarships

You deserve a scholarship! Just be sure to apply on time.

Our awards recognize academic excellence, service, and need. Corpus Christi College offers a number of scholarships, bursaries and grants. Students are welcome to apply for more than one award. A separate application is required for each submission. Most awards are announced in the spring of each year.

Entrance Awards

Entrance awards are based on grades achieved and do not require an application. To be eligible for entrance awards, Corpus Christi College must receive your official high school transcript by August 1.

Competitive Scholarships

The application period for the Circle of Fellows Scholarship and other competitive scholarships opens October 1.

Circle of Fellows Scholarship applications, including all the required documents (Letter of Intent, Academic Records, Service or Leadership Essay, Curriculum Vitae and two reference letters) are due on February 1st at 11:59pm PST.

Applications for competitive scholarships are due April 30, unless otherwise indicated.

Bursary applications must be submitted by the following deadlines:

  • Summer applications due: May 15
  • Fall applications due: September 15
  • Winter applications due: January 15

Circle of Fellows

Full tuition for two years and co-curricular support

Eligibility

  • Students coming directly from high school with a minimum Grade 12 interim admission average of 85%. The 85% requirement is calculated using your English 12 grades and three approved Grade 12 courses. Contact [email protected] if you have any questions or would like clarification on the requirements.

An applicant must submit:

  • A Letter of Intent describing why they believe they are qualified for the scholarship and why they would like to attend the college. The essay must be a minimum of 500 words and a maximum 750 words.
  • An essay describing their involvement in either Service or Leadership. The essay must be a minimum of 750 words and a maximum 1000 words.
  • Record of grades for Grade 10, 11 and Grade 12 (interim grades).
  • Two reference letters. (1) One academic referee (teacher, counselor or administrator) who can comment on your academic abilities, and (2) one community referee (supervisor, parish priest, mentor, etc) who can comment on your involvement in Service or Leadership.
  • A resume of Service or Leadership experience. Applicants must include a description of their involvement, as well as, a contact person for each entry.

Applications are due February 1.

Philip L. Brocking Award

Full year tuition

Eligibility

  • All Corpus Christi College students (new and returning) and all Year 1 and Year 2 St. Mark’s College students.
  • For a practicing member of a Christian faith tradition, who has plans of pursuing an academic program at the University of British Columbia and who is involved with campus student activities.

An applicant must submit:

  • A 500-word essay describing the program they are planning on pursuing at the University of British Columbia, as well as, their current involvement in Christian campus student activities.
  • One reference letter from a supervisor or community leader who can comment on your Christian virtues and involvement in campus student activities. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.
 

Archbishop Exner, OMI Scholarship

$3,500

Eligibility

  • Catholic students coming directly from high school with a strong academic record and commitment to service.

An applicant must submit:

  • An essay (not exceeding 1000 words) on Catholic leadership involvement in their high school or parish through social justice or service learning activities and what they hope to share at Corpus Christi College.
  • Most recent academic records. Grade 12 applicants please provide your most recent report cards as well as grade 11 final results. Post-secondary applicants should provide their most recent transcripts.
  • One reference letter from a leader in such activity/activities who can comment on your involvement. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.

 

Prof. Georges Abi-Rached, P. Eng. Scholarship

$2,500

Eligibility

  • Students coming directly from high school who demonstrate academic excellence and service in Catholic faith life and activities.

Please note that this scholarship has an option for renewal in your second year.

An applicant must submit:

  • A 500-word essay on why you meet and exceed the award criteria including an explanation of your academic achievements and your service in Catholic faith.
  • Most recent academic records. Grade 12 applicants please provide your most recent report cards as well as grade 11 final results. Post-secondary applicants should provide their most recent transcripts.
  • Two reference letters. (1) One academic referee (teacher/professor) who can comment on your academic abilities, and (2) one community referee (supervisor, parish priest, mentor, etc) who can comment on your involvement in Catholic faith life and activities. These referees must submit confidential reference letters to [email protected] by the application deadline.

 

Kristian Domingo Award

$1,100

Eligibility:

  • A Year 2 returning student demonstrating inspirational leadership and perseverance in overcoming adversity. (Year 2 means that you have completed at least 27 credits before the start of fall term.)

An applicant must submit

  • A 250-word essay describing how they have demonstrated perseverance in adversity and how their leadership has inspired others.
  • One reference letter from a supervisor or community leader who can attest to your leadership qualities and perseverance in overcoming adversity. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.

Points to consider in your essay:

  • Describe in your own words what the Kristian Domingo Memorial Award means to you and why you are deserving of this award.
  • How have you inspired (or been inspired by) the people around you to persevere to change an outcome or events?
  • Explain or give examples of how adversity has impacted your life and how you dealt with it or are dealing with it.
  • Describe your relationship with your own family and what activities you share in common.
  • What activities are you involved in at your school, community, and church that you feel passionate about?
  • Do you know at this time what future goals you would like to achieve upon graduation from Corpus Christi College or St. Mark’s College?

 

Father David Bauer, CSB Award for Athletic Excellence

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • Athletic undergraduate students at Corpus Christi-St Mark’s College who are team players and actively involved in community engagement. The student must currently be on a sports team while attending Corpus Christi-St Mark’s College.

An applicant must submit

  • An essay of 500 words reflecting on their talents and how those talents include not just self-fulfillment but also play a role in the development of community, country and world peace. Points to consider in the essay include: How do competitive sports contribute to world peace? How is sport an agent of human development and expression?
  • A reference letter from their team coach (e.g. UBC Coach, National Team Coach, Olympic Team Coach) confirming that the student is a team player and committed to sportsmanship. Reference letters must be sent via email to [email protected] or by mail to the College by the application deadline.

 

Archbishop J. Michael Miller Scholarship

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • All Corpus Christi College students (new and returning) and all Year 1 and Year 2 St. Mark’s College students. Two scholarships will be awarded each year – one for an incoming student and one for a returning student.

An applicant must submit

  • An essay (not exceeding 1000 words) on Catholic leadership involvement in their high school or parish through social justice or service learning activities and what they hope to share at Corpus Christi College.
  • Most recent academic records. Grade 12 applicants please provide your most recent report cards as well as grade 11 final results. Post-secondary applicants should provide their most recent transcripts.
  • One reference letter from a leader in such activity/activities who can comment on your involvement. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.
 

 

Newman Association of Vancouver Scholarship Honouring John Henry Cardinal Newman

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • Year 2 returning students who exemplify true Christian virtues as demonstrated through scholarship, leadership and communication. (Year 2 means that you have completed at least 27 credits before the start of fall term.)

An applicant must submit

  • A 300-word essay describing how they envision such values to be sustained upon their graduation from Corpus Christi College.
  • One reference letter from a leader who can comment on your Christian virtues. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.

 

Blessed Marie Blondin Award

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • All female Corpus Christi College students and St. Mark’s College students.
  • In keeping with the spirit of The Sisters of Saint Ann, this award is intended to provide financial assistance to a deserving laywoman pursuing education for service in the Catholic Church through various kinds of ministries such as: religious education, pastoral work, liturgy, social justice and social action. Interested applicants pursuing programs promoting healing, holistic living, healthy lifestyle and employment training are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate financial need.

An applicant must submit

  • An essay of at least 250 words describing their interest and experience in service in the Catholic Church and/ or their interest and experience in promoting healing, holistic living, healthy lifestyle and employment training.
  • Submit a reference letter from a supervisor or community leader confirming your participation in service in the Catholic Church and/ or your experience in promoting healing, holistic living, healthy lifestyle and employment training. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter to [email protected] by the application deadline.
 

 

Jim and Penny Rogers Bursary

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • A bursary worth $1000 will be awarded to a student coming directly from high school who has demonstrated active involvement in social justice causes and financial need.

How to apply

  • Students must complete a Canada Student Loan Application and one reference letter from a leader who can attest to your current involvement in social justice. This referee must submit a confidential reference letter by email to [email protected].
 
 

 

Corpus Christi College Award

$1,200

Students must be returning to Corpus Christi College with a minimum of 27 credits and a CGPA of 3.0 or higher. If you qualify, fill out this form to be considered.

 

President’s Award

$1,000

Eligibility:

  • Students coming directly from high school.

No award application is required to be considered for an Entrance Award. Corpus Christi College must receive your official high school transcript by August 1 to be eligible for these awards.

Achievement Level (based on final average of required courses only): 95 to 100%

 

Dean’s Award

$750

Eligibility:

  • Students coming directly from high school.

No award application is required to be considered for an Entrance Award. Corpus Christi College must receive your official high school transcript by August 1 to be eligible for these awards.

Achievement Level (based on final average of required courses only): 90 to 94%

 

Scholastic Excellence Award

$500

Eligibility:

  • Students coming directly from high school.

No award application is required to be considered for an Entrance Award. Corpus Christi College must receive your official high school transcript by August 1 to be eligible for these awards.

Achievement Level (based on final average of required courses only): 85 to 89%

 

General Bursaries

Various amounts, up to $500

Eligibility:

  • Students with demonstrated financial need.

Students must complete a Canada Student Loan Application.
